Youth Pet Sitting Course
DO YOU HAVE TEENS AT HOME WHO WANT TO WORK WITH ANIMALS?
The OHS Youth Pet Sitting program is designed for youth ages 14 and older who are interested in a career with animals. Participants who successfully complete the program will have all the knowledge and resources they need to open their own pet sitting business, and walk away with a great addition to their resume!
This two-day weekend course will cover a variety of topics, such as:
- Responsible pet ownership
- Understanding animal body language
- Feeding different species and breeds
- Safe animal handling
- Common zoonotic diseases
- Nail clipping, teeth brushing and grooming
- Administering medications
- Basic pet first aid workshop
- Pet emergencies
- Client and pet sitter responsibilities
- Steps to onboarding new clients
Participants who successfully complete the program will receive an OHS Youth Pet Sitting workbook, carabiners for dog walking, client handouts, and a document of completion.
Age Requirement: Youth ages 14+
Cost: $195 per participant
Duration: Two-day weekend course (16 hours total, including lunch breaks)

Youth Pet Sitting Course – Cancellation & Refund Policy
Refund requests received 7 days in advance of the scheduled program are eligible for a refund (a $50 non-refundable administration fee applies). Refund requests received within 7 days of the scheduled program are not eligible for a refund. Refunds will not be granted for missed sessions or for youth who do not complete the final test.
Full refunds will be issued in the event the OHS has to cancel a scheduled program.
