Special Event Volunteers
Join one of our special events teams!
There are many different special events going on throughout the year that help us raise funds for the animals at the OHS. We are looking for volunteers with an eclectic set of skills and interests to volunteer for our events. Whether this includes planning and committee work, "day-of" tasks, or setting-up and taking down, we need people to help in a variety of areas.
Commitment is required on the day of the event for a specific shift which is assigned in advance. Events are usually held on the weekend.
Special Event Volunteer Requirements:
- Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
- Volunteers are asked to commit regular involvement in OHS Special Events.
- All Special Event Volunteers are required to attend a general orientation.
Steps to Becoming a Special Events Volunteer:
- Download a copy of the OHS Volunteer Application Package:
- Complete the application package and return to the OHS Volunteer Department, volunteer@ottawahumane.ca.
- Volunteers whose skills and interest areas match the Special Event Volunteer Program will be contacted for an interview. If we do not have a volunteer opportunity immediately available, volunteer applications will be kept on file for 2 months.
- Following your interview, you will be asked to complete a police record check for working with the vulnerable sector and scheduled for an orientation.
