It’s easy to forget that Thanksgiving is about more than getting together with family and friends in an extravaganza of turkey and pie. It’s a day for which we are meant to give thanks for what we have.
I have a lot to be thankful for: living in a peaceful country, food on the table, wonderful people in my life—the list is long. Near the top of that list, though is you, our donors and supporters. I am thankful for the lives you save, the second chances, and the changed future for generations of animals. These small miracles are only possible because you care enough to help the most vulnerable in our community.
I am thankful that you have remembered this essential truth: in the end, what you do for yourself will go with you. What you do for others remains. That is your legacy.
