Jenny's Profile

Hi, I’m Jenny!

The staff at the OHS call me a Co-pilot! Co-pilots thrive on being an involved family member, and will likely want to spend a good chunk of their time with you playing, chatting, training, and snoozing. They can handle alone time if you give them enough to do, and their favourite independent activities usually include exploring tunnels, perching by the window, playing with novel toys, and cozying up for a nap. But be ready, because these social kitties will be waiting for you! If you’re having guests over, you might find your Co-pilot at your side acting as your official greeter. And if you’re working around the house a Co-pilot might just want to help – keep an eye on your keyboard! Co-pilots may also be good candidates for harness training and leash walks outdoors. After living with a Co-pilot, you’ll wonder how you ever managed without one.

When stressed I overgroom myself, and some of my fur falls out. As I have acclimatized to my situation, I am doing it much less and my fur is growing back.

I had a thin, short, or patchy coat while I was at the shelter. This could be from a variety of reasons, from a food allergy to skin condition or illness-but we don’t know for sure. I am currently doing well and my coat is growing in. It may continue to improve or I may need further diagnostics, treatment, or other care from a veterinarian.

I had eye infections that were likely related to a “cat cold virus”. I may have flare ups if I become stressed, which could require veterinarian visits and treatment. I may also be contagious to other cats at certain times.

I often feel frightened by new people and situations. To help me adjust, I will need a safe space in the home to call my own. With time and patience, I will come out of my shell and show my wonderful personality.

I have excessive inflammation of my gums, possibly due to feline chronic gingivostomatitis (FCGS). I will require regular veterinary check-ups to monitor this condition. It is possible I will require ongoing veterinary dental care under anesthesia to manage my condition.

I have some dental tartar on my teeth, and some associated gum inflammation. I will likely require a thorough oral health assessment and dental cleaning under general anesthesia within the next year.
