Missing People. Missing You.
I don’t know about you, but I miss getting together with people. I miss older relatives that have been under stricter restrictions. I’ve missed dinners out with friends. I’ve missed in-person staff meetings at work. I miss getting together with my colleagues from across the province to talk about our mutual challenges and their solutions. I’m tired of Zoom. It’s convenient, but it’s just not the same.
One of the other things I have really missed is meeting and talking to OHS supporters. I used to have a lot of opportunities at open houses, the garden party and the biggest opportunity of the year: the Wiggle Waggle Walk & Run. That’s why I’m so excited it’s coming back. It’s by far our biggest event of the year and it’s back! Finally, a chance to once again meet hundreds of people and their dogs who do so much for the OHS and the animals in our care.
After a two-year hiatus because of the pandemic, the walk and run will return to Lansdowne Park on Sunday, September 25. It’s the OHS’s biggest and most important event of the year. Please come and walk or run for Ottawa’s animals. And when you do, please say hello. Because I’ve missed you.
