Shnoopy's Profile

Hi, I’m Shnoopy!

From my foster volunteers: “Shnoopy is a stick-chewing, cuddle-loving friend! He enjoys relaxing with a big piece of wood, then snuggling up for a nap. This playful guy greets everyone with enthusiasm, loves squeaky toys, and is highly motivated by treats (especially veggies like carrots). Shnoopy loves car rides, chilling in the backseat. He’s a true pack dog, always wanting to be by your side, and is eager to learn with treats and repetition. If you’re looking for a happy, food-motivated companion, Shnoopy is your perfect match!”

I am known to guard food resources and would benefit from an adopter who has experience living with a dog with this behaviour challenge. I have responded well to positive reinforcement based training methods, and my adopters should be willing to continue working with me following the same protocol.

The staff at the OHS call me a Performer! Performers love being at the centre of attention and are usually excited to meet all types of people, often introducing themselves! Performers need a high amount of exercise daily, and would love a daily hike, jog, bike ride, or long session of fetch every day. To work their minds, Performers usually love the excitement of food puzzles, frozen treats, training games, and hide-and-seek!

Performers need to be integrated into the family and are usually pretty fun to take out and about for family activities – they love being where the action is! After a good day of socializing and exercising, you’ll usually find Performers flopped down next to you to enjoy some quality sleep time. If you’re looking for an active, social companion, then you’ll have lots of fun with a Performer!

I am looking for a home with no kids and I am not suitable for apartment living.

I come with free training from the OHS!

I am missing some teeth. I will require regular veterinary check-ups to monitor these areas of my mouth for any changes and it is possible my veterinarian may recommend dental care for this condition under anesthesia in the future.

I have allergies and am on a strict hypoallergenic diet.

I am currently relaxing in a foster home as I wait for my forever family. Please contact an adoptions staff to book an appointment to meet me!

If you are interested in setting up an appointment to adopt me, please complete an adoption application at https://ottawahumane.ca/adopt/adoption-application/. Please be advised that although we do offer on-the-spot-adoptions, this is dependent on appointment schedules and cannot be guaranteed.
