Calliope's Profile
Hi, I’m Calliope!
Notes from my foster volunteer: Calliope (Callie) is the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. Her mission in life is to be as close to her people – and get as many belly rubs – as possible! Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, going for a walk, or relaxing in the yard, she’ll be happy as long as she’s with you. She is affectionate, gentle, fun and lively, and loves exploring the neighbourhood, playing with a soft toy, or being gently brushed. She will follow you everywhere you go like a little shadow. She has so much love to give!
The staff at the OHS call me a Happy Homebody! Did you know that Happy Homebodies are friendly, laid back, happy to go with the flow, and only need a small amount of exercise each day to stay happy and healthy? That means you’ll need to help them watch their figure! Only low-cal and healthful treats for a Happy Homebody. These happy-go-lucky pups, with their chill attitude and calm demeanor, are a fantastic addition to most families. And while they may be content to listen to the couch calling their name, Happy Homebodies still need and enjoy a daily neighbourhood stroll and fresh air. Other fun ways to help them maintain their figure include work-to-eat games like food puzzles, training games, and searching out hidden treats! If you’re looking for a reliable and chill family companion, a Happy Homebody is your dog!
I don’t always appreciate unfamiliar dogs in my personal space and I’m not ready to make friends with every dog I meet. I need slow, gradual introductions when making new friends.
I have some teeth that are worn. This is likely due to me chewing objects that are too hard. I will require regular veterinary check-ups to monitor my teeth. In the future I may need dental care for this condition under general anesthesia, possibly including dental extractions or other procedures.
I am missing some teeth. I will require regular veterinary check-ups to monitor these areas of my mouth for any changes and it is possible my veterinarian may recommend dental care for this condition under anesthesia in the future.
I have a malocclusion.
I have allergies that will need to be monitored by our vet.
