Two Years of Pandemic

With more than two years of COVID under our belts, it finally looks like we’re reaching the end of seeing COVID as a crisis, and instead as a challenge that we have the tools and know-how to tackle. At the OHS, we’ve learned a lot in these two years, and they are lessons that won’t soon be forgotten.

Find out what’s staying and what’s going as we adjust to the new normal.

P.S. Thank you for always being there for Ottawa’s animals. You’ve made and continue to make an incredible difference for the animals.

End of Summer BBQ

You do so much for the animals and we want to show our appreciation! The end of summer BBQ is happening in-person. All volunteers will be invited to this exciting event where we will celebrate volunteerism at the OHS and host the years of service pin ceremony.

Stay tuned for an RSVP invitation and date coming shortly.

Fostering Hoppy Friends
In addition to coordinating OHS volunteers, Lindsey Gemmell is also a rabbit foster volunteer. Some rabbits need the extra love and attention that only a foster volunteer can provide. Lindsey says there’s nothing more rewarding than helping foster rabbits get ready for their forever homes.

Helping Where We Can
Our community is facing a vet shortage that has become a crisis. To help the veterinary teams in our community, we are working together with Algonquin College and Collège Boréal to give veterinary students hands-on experience through work rotations at the OHS.
