The Next Five Years: We Can’t do it Without You |
Thank you so much for your incredible commitment to Ottawa’s homeless animals. Securing second chances is only possible because of your selfless dedication to helping those in need. This spring, we shared with you our direction for the next five years. Our focus: keeping more loving families together by helping at both ends of the leash. Already, we’re making progress on advocating for better laws and protections for Ottawa’s animals, doing even more to support our adopters through workshops, and maintaining the human-animal bond through a veterinary social worker.
This is only possible because of you and our team of caring volunteers. If you have any questions about our plans for the next five years, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Volunteers Who Bring Great Computer Skills! |
Volunteers help everywhere at the OHS, including with our fundraising team. Peter and Judy are two of our e-giving volunteers who help ensure we can quickly process donations and thank our caring community for their generosity.
At the OHS, we rely on the community’s support to provide life-saving care for animals in need. Peter and Judy help make sure it’s as easy as possible for people to help out the animals. Peter has been volunteering since 2018 and Judy started in 2015!
A huge thank you to both of them for their incredible support!

Fostering and Teens, the Perfect Mix |
In March, we sent 12 rabbits home with our very first youth foster volunteers! The youth learned lots about animals, earned 40 hours of community service and the rabbits got to enjoy the much needed comforts of home.
Next week, we’ll be sending home another batch of rabbits with teens eager to volunteer for the animals! This groundbreaking program is not only building the next generation of caring people, but helping to ease Ottawa’s ongoing rabbit crisis. A huge thank you to the youth leading this program!

Rabbit Week premiered on July 21! We are featuring our adoptable bunnies 24/7 on our social channels. To help more rabbits find a home, we are offering a special adoption promotion including free access to a new bunny care webinar!
Leave your carrot costume at home, these buns are hungry for a new family.
Tell your friends about Rabbit Week and to adopt a rabbit or two.
