Hi, I’m Gordo!
This rabbit was treated for a upper respiratory tract infection while in OHS care. Symptoms are similar to that of a common cold in humans, and in rabbits the condition is frequently referred to as “snuffles”. The cause of snuffles in rabbits is typically a bacteria called pasteurella. Rabbits can be chronic carriers of this bacteria, and can have periodic flare ups, which may require veterinary care. They can also be a source of infection for other rabbits. You will need to discuss this rabbits special medical needs with your veterinarian.
